Mid Century impending mid life crisis PURGE!!!!!
I turn 50 in a few weeks and am rebooting....out with the old junk and in with the beloved junk only. I am trying my best. A little will be saved for etsy and consignment and a lot of daily life clutter will be offed at the Sale-Of-The-Mid-Century that I have planned for next month. Wish me luck, I will need it. Today I passed up a chance to go thrifting to get a jump on it.It was hard. I love my thrift-therapy. But now I am...... Off To A Good Start.

Thriftstoretherapy
Had a tough morning so spent the afternoon enjoying some Thriftstoretherapy!!! First stop was okay...2 newish purses in my fav black patent leather style. Ooohhh patent leather I love you so. It must stem from some childhood memory. Little me in my black patent leather Mary Janes. ..skipping along with a big ice cream cone and my blonde pixie cut barely moving in the breeze. But I digress.... Anyway, scored a cool- bright- yellow -plastic -vintage-made- in -Japan- canister and a vintage sewing basket. Second stop was a little more of a haul...Luray platter, assorted vintage pins, 2 necklaces sporting vintage owls and medallions, funky tray, cute vintage kitty creamer and other assorted crap I don't need. But, still cheaper than a therapist and just as effective. We are now in the midst of an ice storm, so off to grind coffee and find batteries and flashlights for what I hope is a non-event. We have lost power nearly every year in this house. Lots of old trees that give way and crash on power lines. Last month it was a wind storm that took one of our 30ft pines and snapped it in half. Amazingly we did not lose power that time so....ssshhhh....we're due. I'll post tomorrow if power holds out!

Second Day!!!!!
Second post in as many days. Quite the feat for me! Today was an incredible 70 degrees. Cleaned our breezeway of accumulated junk that has been piled there and not attended to because of cold [and, ummm, laziness.] Found lost library books that have been eluding me for a month...don't ask.I use the breezeway as a mudroom and a potting shed, so would like to have it ready for ye olde garden season. It fast approaches. Want to plant seeds ahead this year. Last year did really well with the most amazing nicotiana...fragrant and large. Gee, this is so interesting. You must be riveted. Promise to step it up a little for future posts. Maybe even add pictures...ooooooo...aaahhhh. Don't give up on me yet.

One Last Try
Here we go!!!! One last try....I will post daily from now on. C'mon...I am nearly 50 years old...I can do this. The dishes can wait...so can the junk piled in the breezeway and the seeds to be planted and....well, you get the idea. I mean, surely I have something to say. Surely I can come up with just a few meaningful sentences for my little blog every day. I mean, I do have something to say...don't I? I've always been accused of saying too much. Of voicing my opinion honestly and without regret. Of course, these statements are not totally true. I do hold back...a lot. No one would speak to me otherwise. Anyway. Will I finally find my voice? Tune in tomorrow to find out.
