Non Stop Summer
Oh! If you could see our laundry pile....and everything else that has piled up while we enjoy a summer of non stop fun. We've seen Ratatouille bundled up in blankets on the lawn of The Vintage Drive-In. We've caught a matinee of Transformers on a rainy 4th of July and then foggy fireworks downtown. Yesterday thunderstorms drove us inside to Harry Potter. All were good by the way. Not mind numbing kid movies [thank you!] I actually stayed awake. Visits to the public market downtown and in Pittsford have been punctuated by stops at Taco John's [praise be to the vegetarian Mexican Plate} and an early lunch time graze at the Pizza Hut lunch buffet. Our patio has been lounge central during these hot, hot days.I like night time Marco Polo games in the pool, after dinner alfresco.Heely's have come into our lives with the requisite trips to smooth parking lots. [She's only fallen once, so far.}We have garage saled and thrift stored a little here and there...libraried and bookstored til our hearts are content. This weekend features a wedding reception in Durand Eastman Park , a trip to the arcade/go cart joint and maybe an outdoor movie at Highland Bowl, or Shakespeare In The Park. Highland Bowl is an outdoor amphitheater in Highland Park which is renown for its beautiful displays of lilacs and flowering shrubs in the spring.[ Martha was here this spring to tape a segment of her show...WOW! How cool are we!??] I delude myself that fall will bring house cleaning/purging sessions interrupted only by aerobic exercise..Until then, long live summer.

Summertime! And the Junkin' is Easy
There we were. Speeding thru the suburbs, on the way home from a craft store cruise. It was a Monday, and yet some die hard entrepreneurs had set up a tent, put up legible signs and carefully laid out their junk. As we sped by, I spied 4 vintage garden chairs. OOOOOO I squealed in delight. Where are you going to put them ? yelped the 11 year old splash o cold water from the back seat. Pipe down, party pooper. We're goin' in. 15 minutes later I was the proud owner of a vintage garden set......price.....oh yeah!....3 bucks!! Take that nay sayers! They are white, dirty, rusty, and cool! I can't wait to rough em up and spray em to match the rest of the garden brood. Oh yeah Oh yeah....I am the junkin' QUEEN!!!!!! [well, at least for today.]
